The United Nilgiri Tea Estates Co. Ltd. is located over at Raviwar Peth 54/3, right in the Vishveshwaraiah Puram Kapadgani area. It's an old part of town, and our office kind of reflects that history. You can usually smell the tea leaves as soon as you step inside, which is probably the best part of working here. We deal with a lot of different batches coming in, and the desks are often covered in samples and small tins. It’s a bit of a maze with all the shelves and cabinets we've added over the years to keep track of everything. The stairs are narrow, and the windows look out over the busy street below where things are always happening. We have a few old desks that have been here since the start, and we haven't seen a reason to change them yet. It's a quiet enough place most of the time, except when the deliveries arrive and everyone has to pitch in to help move things around. We don’t really go for fancy marketing or anything like that. We just focus on the tea and making sure it gets where it needs to go. Most of us here just drink tea all day while we work through the paperwork. It’s a steady kind of life in Raviwar Peth, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood over the many years we've been based here. We just keep things simple.
