Our spot is over in Vijaya Nagar, specifically at 3 and 4. It’s mostly a lot of crates and people moving things around early in the morning. If you come by around six, it’s already busy with folks unloading stuff from the trucks. We handle a lot of produce and farm goods, so there is always that smell of fresh earth and greens in the air. The floors are concrete and get pretty cold in the winter months, but we just wear extra layers and keep moving. We have a small office area tucked in the back where the paperwork gets done. It’s usually messy with delivery notes and pens that never seem to work when you need them. My cousin helps out with the accounts sometimes, and we have a few regulars who have been working the floor with us for years. We don't really do much advertising. Mostly, people know us because we’ve been in this part of Vijaya Nagar long enough to be part of the furniture. The traffic outside can be a nightmare in the afternoons, so we try to get most of the heavy lifting done before the sun gets too high. It’s hard work, and your back definitely feels it by Friday, but it’s what we do. We just keep the crates moving and make sure the labels are right. There is always something to clean or a truck to schedule. It’s a basic operation.
