Our spot is out in White Field, over near Mahadevapura. If you’ve been to this part of Bangalore lately, you know how much the traffic has changed over the years with all the new buildings. We’ve stayed put though. Being in the export business means there is always something being packed or loaded. Boxes everywhere is pretty much the standard look for our floor. It’s dusty sometimes and the trucks coming in and out make a lot of noise throughout the day. We deal with all sorts of items heading out of the country. It takes a lot of patience to get the shipping details right because there are so many forms to fill out. We are a small team here at Tharamal Exports Pvt. Ltd. Most of us live nearby so we don’t have to commute too far, which is a blessing in this city with all the roadwork going on. The office isn't anything special to look at, just desks and chairs and plenty of coffee mugs scattered around. We don't have a marketing team writing fancy things for us. We just handle the orders as they come in and try to stay on top of the latest rules. It’s hard work and the days can be long when a big shipment is due to leave. You learn a lot about how the rest of the world buys things when you do this for a living. We’ve been here in Karnataka for a good while now. It’s just what we do.
