The Royal Orchid

We’ve been here in Murugesh Palya for quite a while now. It’s a busy part of Bangalore, right near the old airport road. Most days are just a lot of people coming in and out, luggage rattling on the tiles. The staff mostly lives around here or takes the bus in. It gets loud with the traffic outside sometimes. We have the usual rooms and the lobby where people wait around. It isn’t anything too fancy if you look closely at the corners, but it works for what people need. The building has been standing here as the neighborhood changed around it. You see a lot of different faces every week. Some are just passing through for work while others are staying a bit longer. We try to keep things moving along without too much fuss. Sometimes the elevators are a bit slow when everyone is checking out at once. That’s just how it goes here. There’s a lot of tea drinking behind the scenes to keep everyone going. We don’t really do big speeches or anything. It’s just a place to stay in this part of town. If you walk outside, you’re right in the middle of the Bangalore rush. It’s dusty and noisy, but that’s just Murugesh Palya for you. We’re just here doing our thing every day. The sun sets behind the buildings and we get ready for the next batch of guests. It is simple work.
