The Oterra

The Oterra is tucked away on Kencha Road. The address says New Delhi South Goa India which sounds a bit confusing but we are right here on the ground. It is a solid building and we have a lot of rooms to look after every single day. I usually get in around eight and the first thing I do is check if the lobby floors were mopped properly. We have a lot of windows so there is always some dust to wipe off especially when it is dry out. The furniture in the common areas is starting to show its age a little but it is still comfortable enough for a rest. We see a lot of travelers passing through, some look very tired and others are just starting their trips. We try to keep the water pitchers full and the magazines straightened out on the tables. Sometimes the elevators make a bit of noise but they get people where they need to go. There is a small office in the back where we keep all the keys and the logbooks. I spend a lot of time there writing things down so we don't forget who called about what. It is a busy job but we have our routine down. We don't have any big speeches to give about what we do, we just show up and make sure the place is open and ready for whoever shows up at the gate.
