The Oberoi

It’s been a while since we set up here on M.G. Road. Being right in the middle of Bangalore means there is always something going on outside our doors. Most days, it is just about keeping things tidy and making sure the gardens look okay. It is a big place, so there is always a tap leaking or a light that needs changing somewhere. We spend a lot of time just walking the floors. People come in from all over, some for work and some just passing through the city. Bangalore has changed a lot since the early days, but this corner of the street stays pretty much the same. We have the usual routine every morning. The staff shows up, we check the guest list, and we get the kitchen going. It’s not fancy talk, just a lot of hard work. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud, especially in the evenings, but inside it stays quiet enough. We don't really do big speeches about what we do. We just open the doors and get on with it. If you are looking for us, we are right there near the main stretch. It's a nice spot, honestly. The trees hide some of the noise from the main road. We just try to keep the place running smooth without too much fuss. Every day is different but also kind of the same in a good way. That’s just how it is here.
