The Oberoi Banglore

Working on M.G. Road in Bangalore is an experience. I spend most of my time in the Food and Beverage department here. It is one of those places that never really sleeps. The address is 37/39, right where all the tourists and office workers walk by. If you work in F&B, you know how the shifts go. You are on your feet for hours, making sure tables are set and the kitchen is ready. The noise from the dining area is a mix of clinking plates and people talking over each other. It gets very loud during the dinner rush. We have a lot of different people on the staff. Some have been here forever and others are just starting out. We don't really have time for anything fancy behind the scenes. It is just about getting the orders right and making sure nobody is waiting too long for their food. The building is old but has that solid feel to it. Outside, the traffic on M.G. Road is a nightmare most days, so we are always happy to get inside and start the shift. We have a routine. Prep the stations, check the inventory, and handle the crowds. It is a lot of pressure sometimes, especially when there is a big event, but we just get through it together. It is a real job with real people, and we try to stay organized in the middle of all the chaos.
