The Leela Palace Kempinski

Down in Mysore, over on C.V. Road in the Bannimantap area, you’ll find the place where we work. The Leela Palace Kempinski is a name that sounds quite grand, but for those of us who are here every day at 125 4th Main, it’s just where we spend our working hours. Mysore is a city with a lot of history, and you can feel that when you drive through the streets. Our location is near the main road, so it’s easy to get to, though the traffic can be a bit slow during peak hours. The building itself is impressive, but we spend most of our time in the back offices and hallways making sure everything stays on track. There’s a lot of cleaning, fixing, and organizing that happens behind the scenes. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make sure the rooms are ready and the grounds look decent. The staff comes from all over the city, and we’ve become a bit of a family over the years. We deal with the heat of the Karnataka sun and the busy seasons when the city gets crowded with visitors. It’s a lot of physical work and constant movement. We don’t have much time for sitting around. Every day brings something different, whether it’s a big event or just a quiet afternoon in the lobby. We just keep our heads down and do the job.
