The Leela Palace, Kempinski, Bangalore

We are located at flat number 25 in the Elegant Flats on Gandhi Road in Velachery. It’s quite a way from Bangalore, but this is where we do a lot of the background work for the hotel. Being in Chennai means we deal with a lot of heat, but the office has a decent fan. It’s a regular residential building, so it doesn’t feel like a big corporate office at all. We handle things like guest relations, some of the accounting, and a lot of the digital side of things. It’s mostly us sitting around our laptops and drinking coffee. Gandhi Road is always buzzing with people and bikes, so there’s always something to look at out the window when we take a break. We’ve been in this flat for a good while now and we’ve made it our own. We don't have any big signs out front. We just focus on the work that needs to be done to keep the hotel in Bangalore running like it should. It’s a lot of back-and-forth communication. We have to make sure every little detail for the guests is right, even if we aren't there in person to see them. It can be a bit stressful when there’s a big event coming up, but we just work through the list. We aren't interested in using fancy business talk. We just want to do our part and go home at the end of the day. It is just basic coordination and making sure the numbers match up.
