Even though the name is The Leela Palace Kempenski, Bangalore, this specific office is at A - 104, Ansal Apartment Airport Road, Kodihally Bangalore. It is not the big fancy hotel building itself, but more of an administrative spot where we handle the back-end stuff. The traffic on Airport Road is always a nightmare, so we usually hear the honking of cars all day long. The office is inside Ansal Apartment, which feels very much like a regular home. We have rows of filing cabinets and a few desks crammed into the rooms. There is a small balcony where some of us go to get a bit of air, though it is mostly just exhaust fumes from the road. We deal with reservations and guest requests from here. The phone lines stay busy, especially during the holiday seasons. We have a lot of paperwork regarding the hotel operations. It is a lot of coordinating between different departments. Sometimes we get lunch from the small eateries nearby. The floor is tile and it stays cool even when it is hot outside. We have a calendar on the wall that is filled with scribbles about events and arrivals. It is a bit cramped when everyone is in at the same time. We do not have any grand chandeliers here like they do at the palace. It is just desks, computers, and people trying to keep everything running smoothly. We have been in this spot for a good while.
