The Leela Palace, Banglore(India)

If you go into The Leela Palace in Bangalore and head toward the Library Bar, that is where we spend our time. It is a bit different from a normal office because we are surrounded by all these old books and heavy wooden furniture. The atmosphere is very quiet, almost like you have to whisper even when you are just talking about the inventory. We spend a lot of our shift dusting the shelves and making sure the leather chairs are where they are supposed to be. It is a grand building, but for those of us working here, it is just our daily spot. We see a lot of people coming through, but we mostly focus on keeping the bar area tidy and organized. The lighting is always a bit dim, which makes it feel like it is evening even when it is ten in the morning outside. We do not have the usual office clutter like printers or stacks of paper. Instead, we deal with glassware and old volumes that nobody has touched in years. Sometimes the traffic in Bangalore is so bad that we arrive late and have to rush to get everything opened up. It is a strange place to work because it is so fancy, but we still have to do the same boring chores like checking the stock and cleaning the counters. We just keep the place running while the guests enjoy the peace and quiet.
