The Leela Palace Bangalore

We are located right here in Bangalore at the Leela Palace. It is a big place with lots of trees and gardens that keep things a bit cooler than the main road outside. Most of us have been working here for years and we know the shortcuts through the hallways pretty well by now. The morning shift usually starts with checking the grounds and making sure the water features are running right. It gets really busy during the wedding season because everyone wants to take photos by the arches. Sometimes the traffic on Old Airport Road makes it hard for the staff to get in on time, but we manage. We aren't a corporate chain that feels cold, even if the building looks grand. It’s just us trying to keep things tidy and making sure the rooms are ready for whoever is checking in. You can hear the birds in the courtyard early in the day before the city noise really picks up. We spend a lot of time fixing small things that break and making sure the flowers are watered. It’s a lot of walking back and forth every day. The kitchen stays hot and the lobby stays cool, and that is just how it goes. We don’t have some fancy speech about what we do, we just show up, do the work, and go home to our families in the evening. It is a decent place to be for those of us who work here.
