Being at The Leela Palace, Bangalore is quite something when you think about the building itself. It sits there in Bangalore and everyone knows where it is. We don't really think about it in a fancy way because we are here every single day. For us, it’s just the place where we show up and do our jobs. The architecture is big and has all those details, but we are more focused on the hallways we walk through and the rooms we have to keep track of. Bangalore traffic is usually backed up right outside, so getting here in the morning can be a bit of a struggle. Once you are inside, the noise of the city fades away a little bit. We go by the name The Leela Palace, Bangalore and that is what people call us when they call on the phone. It isn't just about the name though. It is about the physical space and the way the light hits the gardens in the afternoon. We have our routines and the staff knows each other well. Sometimes the elevators are slow or we have to fix something that broke overnight. It is a large place to manage and there is always a list of things to do. We just keep at it and try to make sure everything is where it should be for whoever comes through.
