The Chancery

The Chancery has been a part of the Bangalore scene for quite a long time now. We are located right in the heart of the city, which means there is never a dull moment. It’s a busy hotel and there are always people checking in and out at all hours of the day and night. I’ve been working here for a few years and you really see everything. From business travelers who are always on their phones to families on vacation who are a bit lost. The lobby is usually buzzing with activity. We spend a lot of our time standing at the desk or walking through the halls to make sure things are in order. The building has its own character, not like those brand new glass towers you see everywhere now. It feels a bit more traditional. We have a lot of regulars who come back every time they are in Bangalore, so we know them by name. The kitchen is always busy too, especially during the breakfast rush. It gets pretty loud with all the plates clinking and people talking. We don't use any fancy scripts when we talk to guests, we just try to be helpful and get them to their rooms without much trouble. Sometimes the elevators are a bit slow when the hotel is full, but that’s just how it goes. It’s a lot of hard work keeping a place like this running, but we have a good team and we just take it one day at a time.
