If you find yourself over in Chamarajpet, specifically near the 9th Cross area, you’ll probably see our sign hanging out there. The Atria Hotel is right there on the 3rd Main. It’s a busy part of Bangalore, and it always has been as long as I can remember. We’ve got the usual setup for a local hotel in this neighborhood. It’s definitely not one of those massive glass skyscrapers you see in the newer parts of the city these days. Our building feels more like the old version of Bangalore. We spend a lot of our time just keeping things tidy and making sure the rooms are ready for whoever walks in off the street. The staff here has been around a long time, so we are like a small family. We know all the local shops and where to get a decent cup of tea nearby. Some days are really hectic when a lot of people check in at once. Other days, it’s quiet enough to hear the crows outside on the wires. We don’t have a big fancy lobby with fountains or anything flashy like that. It’s just a front desk and some old chairs where people wait. We fix things ourselves when they break, which happens more than we’d like because the plumbing is quite old. It’s just an honest way to make a living. We see all sorts of travelers, business folks, and sometimes families visiting relatives. Chamarajpet has a specific rhythm, and we are just a small part of it.
