Tgifridays

You can find us on the first floor of the building at 69 Ratna Vilas Road. Basavangudi is one of those parts of Bangalore that still feels like the old days, even with all the changes happening around us. We run the Tgifridays here. It isn't a stiff, formal place at all. Most of the time, it’s just us running around trying to make sure the tables are clean and the food is coming out hot. We have a lot of regulars who come in from the neighborhood. Some of the staff have been here since we opened the doors on this floor. We don't have any of those polished scripts for when we talk to people. We just say hello and get them what they need. The kitchen can get pretty loud during the dinner rush, and sometimes the music is a bit high, but that’s the vibe we have. We spend our mornings checking the ingredients and making sure the bar is stocked up. It’s a lot of physical work, standing on your feet all day and carrying heavy trays. We don’t bother with big marketing phrases. We just want people to have a decent meal and a place to sit for a while. Being in Bangalore-04 means we see all sorts of people walking by. It’s a good spot to be, and we’re happy to be part of the local scene here on Ratna Vilas Road.
