Tendering Estimation Engineer

Down in B.S.K 2nd Stage, specifically on the 25th Cross near 9th Main, is where we set up our office. It is house number 353. Being a tendering and estimation engineer means a lot of our time is spent staring at blueprints and complicated spreadsheets. Our desks are usually covered in large drawings and old calculators. It is a bit of a maze getting here if you are not familiar with the Bangalore cross streets, but once you find us, it is a pretty standard and comfortable workspace. We have been doing this for several years now. It is mostly about the numbers and making sure the costs for construction projects are figured out correctly before any of the actual building starts. We do not really have a big reception area or any of those fancy coffee machines. Usually, it is just the sound of someone humming or the scratching of a pen on a piece of paper. We take on a lot of different projects, some very big and some quite small. Each one takes a good bit of time to get right. We do not like rushing the math because that is exactly how mistakes happen. The neighborhood is fairly busy during the day, so there is always some noise outside. We mostly keep to ourselves and focus on the technical side of the building industry. It is practical work. We are not trying to be the biggest firm in the city, just the one that gets it right.
