Tejkamal Stationary & Gift Centre

We’ve got our shop, Tejkamal Stationary & Gift Centre, over at 116 Cambridge Layout. It’s a nice enough area, mostly residential with some small businesses mixed in. We carry the usual things you’d expect like pens, notebooks, and those little gift items people buy at the last minute. The shop is a bit small, so things are stacked pretty high on the shelves. You might have to move a box or two to find exactly what you’re looking for. We get a lot of school kids coming in during the afternoons when they need a specific chart paper or a new pen. It makes the place feel lively. We don’t have a fancy computer system for sales; we just use a ledger and a calculator. It’s worked for us so far. The front window gets a lot of sun in the morning, which makes the shop feel bright. We try to keep the sidewalk in front of the shop clean, but the wind always blows leaves around. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Bangalore. We just like being part of the Cambridge Layout neighborhood. Most days are steady, and we enjoy the conversations we have with the folks who live nearby. It’s a simple life, opening the shutters in the morning and seeing who stops by to grab a newspaper or a birthday card. We just keep things moving along day by day.
