Technician

This is Technician, and I’m H. S. Pradeep. My place is over at No 155/25, right on the 3rd Main, 3rd Cross in Maruthi Nagar. If you’re familiar with Nandini Layout in Bangalore, you probably know how these streets are. It’s a busy neighborhood, and my shop is tucked in among the houses and other local stores. I’ve been working from this 560 096 pin code area for a long time. It’s just a basic room where I have my workbench and all the gear I need for repairs. I don't have any receptionists or fancy waiting areas. Most of the time, I’m just hunched over a piece of equipment with a magnifying glass. The 3rd Cross can get a bit noisy with kids playing and delivery bikes zooming past, but I don't mind it. It feels like a real community. I started this because I always liked taking things apart to see how they worked. Now, neighbors just drop things off when they stop working. I try to get things back to them as soon as I can, but sometimes parts take a few days to arrive from the market. I keep a few spare components in old plastic bins under my table. It’s a simple setup that works for me. I don’t try to be something I’m not. I’m just a guy who knows his way around electronics and enjoys living in this part of Bangalore. If you walk by, you’ll probably hear the sound of my radio playing.
