Taj Hotels

Our spot is at Number 7 in the Shamanna Reddy Layout, over in Annasandra Palya in Bangalore. It is a bit of a different vibe from the big, fancy Taj hotels you see in the city center. This is more of a back-end office where we handle a lot of the support work that keeps the hotels running. We have a lot of staff coming in and out, some from the housekeeping side and others from the kitchens. It’s a practical space, mostly used for training or for sorting out the supplies that go to the different properties. The layout area is mostly residential, so it’s actually a bit quiet once you get off the main road. We have a small courtyard where people sit during their breaks to have a smoke or a quick snack. There’s always a pile of laundry or some crates of dishes being moved around somewhere. It’s the kind of work that nobody really sees but it has to happen for the guests to have a good stay. We don't really have a big sign out front, just the number on the gate. The people working here have been with the company for years, so we all know each other's families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. It’s just a regular daily grind of making sure the standards are met and the supplies are ready to go.
