My office is located at 214/50 in the Shivaji Nagar area. I am on the first floor of the Balaji Complex, which is right there in Khazi Mohalla near the masjid. It is a busy neighborhood with a lot of noise from the street, but once you come inside the complex, it is a bit quieter. I have been working as an advocate and legal consultant here for some time now. Most of my day is spent reading through papers or heading down to the court. There are a lot of files stacked up in the office, which I suppose is normal for a law practice. People come in with all sorts of problems, usually about land or family matters. I just sit with them and see what the law says about it. It is not like what you see on television. It is mostly just paperwork and waiting. Sometimes the tea man from downstairs brings up a cup while I am in the middle of a consultation. It is a small setup, just me and a bit of help with the filing. I like being in Shivaji Nagar because it is central. The mosque nearby is a good landmark for people who are coming to see me for the first time. I try to be clear about what can be done and what cannot. No tall promises here, just legal work. It keeps me busy enough and the location is good for my clients who live around this part of the city.
