Swetha Makkena

You can find me over in Kasturi Nagar, specifically at house 116 on 4th H Cross. It’s a quiet enough part of Bangalore, tucked away behind the Ngef area. I’m Swetha Makkena, and this is where I’ve set up my small working space. Being in a residential neighborhood means things stay a bit more personal than they would in those big glass office buildings downtown. I started doing this a few years ago because I wanted to be closer to home. The traffic in Bangalore is no joke, so working from 2nd Main saves me a lot of stress. My setup is pretty straightforward. I have my desk and my files, and that’s about it. It’s not some big polished company. It’s just me doing my thing and helping out people who find me through word of mouth. Sometimes I work late into the night when it's quieter outside and the street lights are the only thing glowing. Neighbors walk their dogs past the window, and I recognize most of them by now. I don't use a lot of technical jargon or try to sound like a big boss. I just answer the phone and do the work that needs doing. It’s a practical way to live, and I enjoy the independence it gives me. There’s always a bit of dust from the road construction, but that’s just how the city is these days.
