Swayam Computers

Our shop is at 271 Nagasandra, not too far from Saint Pauls Church. It’s a small corner of the world where we spend our days looking at motherboards and cracked laptop screens. If you walk past, you’ll probably see a bunch of old towers and monitors piled up in the window display. We started this because we liked taking things apart, and now it’s just what we do for a living every day. The place smells a bit like solder and dust, which is pretty common for a repair shop like ours. We have a couple of workbenches in the back where most of the magic happens, though it’s usually just a lot of patience and very small screws. People from the church or the local houses come in when their computers won’t turn on or when they need something printed out fast. We don’t have a fancy waiting area, just a plastic chair or two near the counter for people to sit. It gets a bit crowded when more than three people are inside at once, especially in the evenings. We don't really do much advertising; people just know we’re here because we’ve been around for a long time. Sometimes we get some really old machines that are a challenge to fix, but that’s what makes the day interesting for us. We stay open until the street lights come on, then we pack up our tools and do it all again. It’s steady work and we enjoy it.
