Surya Shibir Laxmi Farms

Surya Shibir Laxmi Farms is out in Kacharkanahalli, over in the L Puram area. It’s a bit of a drive from the city center, but that’s the point of having a farm. We spend our days out on the land, dealing with whatever the weather decides to do. It’s a lot of physical work, and our boots are rarely clean. We grow some crops and look after the place as best as we can. We don't have a big office or a corporate structure. Most of our meetings happen while we are walking the fields or sitting on the porch. The air is better out here, even if the work is harder than sitting at a desk. We’ve been part of the Kacharkanahalli community for quite some time now. People around here know us for the farm and the work we put in. We aren't trying to be some massive commercial operation. We just like the land and making things grow. Sometimes the harvest is good and sometimes it’s a struggle, but that is just farming for you. We don't use a lot of fancy technology, just the basic tools and a bit of patience. It’s a slow pace of life compared to the town, and we prefer it that way. We just do our bit every day and hope the rain comes when it’s supposed to. It’s honest work.
