Supervisor

I am based at Jacob V Job Thyparambil, located in the P H Ward of Alleppey. This is down in Kerala, a place known for its water and slow pace of life. As a supervisor here, my day is mostly about making sure things are happening the way they should. It is not a big corporate office with glass walls; it's a practical space in the ward where we handle the daily tasks of the job. Alleppey is a busy place in its own way, especially with the tourism and the local trade, but back in the P H Ward, it’s a bit more settled. I spend a lot of time on the phone or checking over work that has been completed. The address is just a regular spot in the neighborhood. We don't have fancy signs or a big team of people in suits. It’s just us working through the lists and making sure the records are right. Sometimes the humidity makes it a bit tough to stay focused, but we are used to the Kerala weather. It’s an honest day's work. Most people who need to find me know where the building is in the ward. I keep a desk with all my files and a few chairs for when workers need to talk. It’s a simple, local way of doing things without any extra drama or complicated systems involved.
