About Sun Farmers International – Agriculture & Farming in Bengaluru
We've been here on Dharamaraja Kovil Street in Yeshwantpur for a while now. It gets pretty loud outside with all the trucks coming through early in the morning. Mostly we deal with what the farmers bring in or what they need for their land. The building is at number 39, and it’s not much to look at, just a regular place where work gets done. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit of a mess, but that’s just how it is around here. People come in looking for specific seeds or just to see what the prices are doing today. We spend a lot of time on the phone or moving bags around. It's dusty work. There's a tea stall nearby that we go to when things quiet down for a minute. My hands are usually a bit dirty by noon. We don’t have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just rows of supplies and some old desks. The fans hum all day to keep the air moving. You learn a lot about the weather just by listening to the guys who walk in. If the monsoon is late, everyone is a bit grumpier. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the crates pile up faster than we can move them. It’s a living. We know the neighbors and they know us. We’ve been seeing the same faces for years. It’s a lot of manual labor, really. If you're looking for us, look for the green door. That's Sun Farmers International.
