Sudhanshu Kedia

Sudhanshu Kedia is located at No 1 on Wat Street, right up on the second floor. We are in the middle of Gandhi Bazar in Basavanagar, so it’s always incredibly busy outside the door. The market sounds start early in the morning and they don't really stop until late at night. You can smell the flowers and the food from the stalls downstairs even when the windows are shut. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit narrow and steep, so you have to watch your step. Inside, it’s a modest space where we do our work. It’s often cluttered with books and documents because there is always something to look up or sign. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us making sure things run right. Basavanagar is a lively place to be, and Gandhi Bazar is the heart of it, so there is never a dull moment. We have been at this Wat Street location for a while and we know the other shopkeepers around here pretty well. It’s a bit cramped sometimes when we have visitors, but we just pull up another chair. We don't bother with fancy carpets or expensive paintings. It’s just a practical office for practical people. The electricity sometimes flickers when the market is really humming, but we just carry on. It’s a real part of the local community and we like being right in the thick of things.
