Work Shop Jeans

Work Shop Jeans is located on the first floor of the Thirumurthy Building. That’s over in Sudamanagar, on the 1st Main. We are at number 19. If you come up the stairs, you’ll hear the sewing machines going almost immediately. We’ve been making jeans here for quite some time. It’s a noisy place with a lot of blue thread and fabric scraps all over the floor. We aren’t a big factory with assembly lines. It’s more of a workshop where we pay close attention to how things are put together. We spend our days cutting denim and stitching pockets. It’s hard on the hands after a while. The lighting in here isn't the best, but we have lamps at every station so we can see what we’re doing. We don't really have a showroom or a retail space. People usually know where we are and just come by when they need some work done. Sudamanagar is a busy area, and we are right in the middle of all the noise. Sometimes it gets a bit hot with all the machines running, so we keep the windows open to let in some air. We don’t do any big advertising campaigns or anything like that. Our work usually speaks for itself when people wear what we’ve made. It’s a straightforward business. We show up in the morning, we sew until we’re done, and then we go home. That’s the way it has been for years now.
