Srinivas & Khan Architects & Interiors

Srinivas and Khan started this firm together and we’ve been operating out of Victoria Layout at 102 for quite some time. It’s a nice area, fairly central, which makes it easier for clients to find us. The office is a bit of a mix between an architecture studio and a place full of interior samples. We’ve got stacks of floor tiles and wood laminates leaning against the walls most of the time. It gets a bit cluttered, but that’s just how we work. Srinivas usually handles the structural stuff while Khan looks after the interior details and the colors. We spend a lot of our hours arguing over where a wall should go or what light fixture fits a room best. It’s a small team, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from site visits to picking out door handles. The lighting in our office isn't the best in the late afternoon, but we have good lamps for the drawing boards. We don't really do the corporate thing with fancy receptionists or coffee machines. Usually, you just walk in and one of us will look up from a screen. We deal with a lot of residential projects nearby. People come to us when they want to fix up their old apartments or start fresh. We just try to keep the drawings accurate and the clients informed about what’s happening with their sites. It’s practical work and we enjoy seeing a sketch become a real room.
