I have been at the H Kumaran Complex in Manjunath Nagar for a while now. My spot is number 652. It is one of those buildings where you know everyone by their first name. I usually get in around nine and start by cleaning off the desk. There is always a bit of paperwork piled up from the day before. The complex itself is quite old and has its quirks. Sometimes the lights flicker when the neighbor turns on their heavy equipment, but we just laugh about it. It is a practical space for what I do. I don't have a lot of fancy furniture or decorations. Just the essentials. People from the neighborhood often drop in just to say hello or ask a quick question. I like that part of being in Manjunath Nagar. It feels like a real community here. You can hear the kids playing outside in the afternoons. When the weather is nice, I leave the door propped open. It gets a bit of a breeze through the hallway. I handle things as they come. There is no point in stressing over the small stuff. If someone needs me, they know exactly where to find me sitting. I usually pack a lunch and eat it right here while watching the people walk past the gate. It is a steady way to spend the day and it keeps me out of trouble. I've grown fond of the old building.
