Sri Vijayalakshmi Agarbathi Works

We are based out of Yelachenahalli, right off Kanakpura Road at number 40/3. Sri Vijayalakshmi Agarbathi Works is where we spend our whole day. It's a busy industrial area, and we've been part of this neighborhood for quite some time now. Making incense isn't a clean job; there’s powder and paste everywhere, and by the end of the shift, your hands usually tell the story of what you've been working on. We have several workers who have been with us since the early days. They know exactly how much pressure to use when rolling or how to stack them so they dry right. It's not a high-tech factory. It's mostly people working with their hands, sitting at their stations and keeping the rhythm going. The smell of sandalwood or rose usually hangs heavy in the air, which we don't even notice anymore. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of the space is taken up by drying racks and raw materials. When the weather is humid, the drying takes longer, which can be a bit of a pain for our schedule. We just try to keep the quality steady. It's a local business through and through. We know the neighbors and the guys who deliver our raw wood and coal. We just keep our heads down and make sure the sticks are packed properly before they go out for sale. It keeps us quite busy.
