Our place is at B 25 in Kalasipalyam, right inside the Chetan Cloth Market area. If you’ve ever been to Kalasipalyam, you know it is a very hectic place. There are people everywhere and trucks unloading goods at all hours. We are tucked into the cloth market, so there is always the sound of people bargaining and moving bundles of fabric right outside our door. We focus on tourist travel and bus bookings. It is a lot of coordinating trips and making sure everyone has a seat. The office is small and usually filled with a bit of smoke from the tea stall next door. We have old maps pinned to the walls and stacks of booking slips on the counter. It gets quite hot in the summer because the building is old and doesn't get much breeze. We’ve been here for a long time, so we know all the other shopkeepers around. We aren't trying to be a big fancy travel agency. We just provide a way for people to get where they are going, whether it’s for a holiday or a trip back to their village. Sometimes the buses are late because of the chaos in the market streets, and we have to explain that to the passengers. It’s just part of the job. We show up every morning and do what needs to be done. It’s a busy life here in Kalasipalyam.
