Our office is located at 3524 Binnamangala, right in the middle of the New Stationery Market. If you know the area, you know how hectic it gets with all the trucks unloading paper and supplies all morning. It is a loud place, but there is a certain rhythm to it that you get used to after a week or two. We are surrounded by shops selling every kind of pen and notebook you can imagine. Inside the building, things are a bit more relaxed. We have our drafting tables and a couple of computers where we spend the day working on various things. The light isn't great in the back of the room, so we use some extra lamps we picked up from a shop nearby. Sometimes the smell of fresh ink from the printers downstairs drifts up through the windows. It is a practical space, not one for showing off. There is a small pantry in the corner where the kettle is always on. Most of us bring lunch from home and eat together while talking about whatever was on the news that morning. The market stays open late, so even when we are finishing up for the evening, there is still plenty of life out on the street. It’s just a normal workplace with people trying to do their jobs and get home on time. We’ve been in this building for a while now and know most of the neighbors. It makes the day go by a bit easier seeing familiar faces around the market.
