Sree Lakshmi Bangles

Our shop is located at 97/1 in Malleshwaram. If you know Bangalore, you know Malleshwaram has its own old-school charm. We are right in the middle of all that. The smell of jasmine flowers from the street vendors is always drifting in through the door. As the name suggests, we have a lot of bangles. Glass ones, metal ones, all sorts of colors. They make a lot of noise when we are moving the boxes around. The shop is quite old, with wooden shelves that have been there since the beginning. We don't have fancy LED lights, just the regular tubelights that flicker a bit when you turn them on. The floor is that old red oxide style you don't see much of anymore. We have a lot of elderly ladies who have been buying from us for decades. They come in and tell us stories about how the neighborhood has changed while they pick out sets for weddings or festivals. It is a small space, so you have to be careful not to knock anything over. We spend the quiet hours stringing together sets or cleaning the glass display cases. There is no computer here; we do all the math in our heads or on a small calculator. It is a slow-paced kind of place. We open the doors around ten and stay until the flower market nearby starts to wind down.
