We spend our days booking tickets and trying to help people figure out how to get from one city to another. It’s a lot of staring at computer screens and talking on the phone with bus operators. The office is usually full of brochures that have seen better days. We aren't a high-end travel agency; we just help regular people get where they need to go for work or family visits. Sometimes the systems go down and we have to write things out by hand, which is a bit of a mess. We know the routes around South India pretty well because we’ve been doing this for a long time. People come in asking for the cheapest way to travel, and we do our best to find it. It can get a bit hectic during the festival seasons when everyone wants to go home at the same time. We try to stay calm and just deal with one person at a time. It’s a decent living and we get to meet a lot of different people every single day. We’ve been at this plaza for years now and most of the other shopkeepers are our friends.
