Sofia English School

You can find us out on Kanakapura Road in the Bayanpalya area. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but it’s where we’ve set up shop and we like it here. Sofia English School sits back a little from the main road, but you can still hear the trucks and cars going by if the wind is right. We have a simple building with a few floors and a small yard where everyone gathers in the mornings. It’s not a shiny new private school with a swimming pool. We have classrooms with fans that hum and desks that have been used by many different kids over the years. The walls have some scuffs and the paint might be peeling a bit in the corners, but that’s because the place is actually used. In the mornings, the air is a bit fresher out here in Bayanpalya compared to the middle of the city. We spend our time checking homework, tidying up the library, and making sure the gate is locked when it should be. It’s a very straightforward way of life. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with big signs or fancy logos. We just provide a place for the local kids to come and spend their day. It’s a lot of work keeping things running, but we just take it one day at a time. The neighbors know us and we know them, which makes it feel like home.
