James English School

The school is located on L B S Road in Virgo Nagar. It’s a busy area, so there is always the sound of horns and trucks passing by outside our windows. We have a few classrooms set up with basic chairs and whiteboards. I usually get here early to open up the shutters and let some air in before the first group arrives. Teaching English is mostly about listening to people try their best to pronounce words that don't always make sense. We have students from all over the neighborhood. Some are adults who want to get better jobs, and others are just kids whose parents want them to learn. The walls are a pale yellow color, and we have a few posters of the alphabet and some grammar rules tacked up. Sometimes the markers run out of ink right in the middle of a lesson, which is annoying. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the material and like talking to people. There is a small desk near the entrance where we keep the registers. The floor is tiled and easy to mop, which is good because it rains a lot and people bring in mud. It's a plain building, nothing special to look at, but it stays busy from morning until late evening. We just focus on the lessons and making sure everyone understands the homework before they leave.
