About Site Engineer – Builders & Developers in Bengaluru
I’m based at No.10 on the 3rd Floor of the 17th Cross in J.P. Nagar 6th Phase. It’s a busy part of Bangalore, right on the 26th Main in S.M.M. Garden. Being a site engineer in a place like this means dealing with a lot of traffic just to get from one project to another. My office is a bit of a climb up to the third floor, but it’s where I keep all the blueprints and site logs. I’ve been working in construction for years, and I’ve learned that you can’t manage a site from a chair. You have to be there when the trucks arrive and when the slabs are being poured. I don’t have a flashy website or a big sales team. Most people just find me because they see me working on a site nearby. In J.P. Nagar, space is tight, so the engineering has to be very precise. I spend a lot of my time checking the measurements over and over. If something is off by even an inch, it causes a headache later on. My job is to make sure those headaches don't happen. It’s not a glamorous life, and the hours are long, especially when we’re trying to finish a phase before the monsoon hits. I just try to be practical and get the work done without too much fuss. People here just want their buildings finished on time and according to the plan.
