Site Engineer

I am based at Mahaveer Towers in the 6th Phase of Bangalore, working with Reddy Structures. My name is D. Chalapathi and I'm the site engineer for the projects we have going on here. It’s a busy spot on 24th Main. Most of my day is spent walking around the site, checking the reinforcement or talking to the contractors. It is not an easy job because there are always ten things happening at once. I try to keep a close eye on everything so mistakes don't happen. We've got our office space here, but I prefer being out where the actual work is. Bangalore is growing so fast, and being part of that through these structures is something I've done for a long time. It’s dusty and noisy, but that’s just construction for you. I don't use much fancy talk, I just tell the guys what needs to be fixed. We deal with a lot of different people, from truck drivers to the owners. Every day is a bit different. If the weather is bad, we fall behind, so I have to push to get back on schedule. It’s just how it goes in this line of work. No big missions or anything, just making sure the building stands up right and everyone is doing their part properly.
