Site Engineer

I’ve been doing this for a while now. Most days I’m out on the road or stuck in some corner of Bangalore traffic trying to get to a site. We are based out of B. D. Nadaf’s house here in Metro Layout, near Nayandan Halli. It’s not a big fancy office with glass windows and a front desk. Instead, it is just a place where we keep our tools and look over drawings before heading out. Being a site engineer means you spend more time in the sun than in a chair. People around here know us for just showing up and getting into the work. It’s messy sometimes. Rain can slow things down, and on some mornings the materials don’t show up when they should. We deal with it. I don’t have a big team of people answering phones; usually, it is just me or a couple of guys making sure the pillars are straight and the levels are right. We’ve seen how this area has changed over the years. Buildings are going up everywhere. If you come by the house, you’ll probably see a lot of dusty boots near the door. That is just how it is. My focus is on the actual building part, not the talking part. It keeps us busy. Some days go long, into the dark, but that is part of the job. We don't mind the hard work as long as the structure stands solid. It is just about the brick and mortar.
