The Pioneer Industrial Estate in J P Nagar is always a bit dusty and loud. We are located at number 90, right on Subhash Road. Being in an industrial area means there is always the sound of someone cutting metal or a truck backing up somewhere nearby. At Signit, we’ve grown used to the noise. The floor is concrete and usually has some scraps of material lying around from whatever project we finished yesterday. It’s a large space, which is good because some of the things we handle are quite bulky. The air smells a bit like paint and glue most of the time. We have a small office section partitioned off with some old wooden panels where the paperwork happens, but most of us prefer being out on the floor. Subhash Road gets really crowded in the evenings, so we usually try to wrap up early if we can. There isn't much in the way of decoration here. We have a few old calendars on the wall and a clock that’s five minutes fast. People who come to visit us usually comment on how busy the estate feels. It’s just a practical place to work. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a polished lobby. We just wear what’s comfortable and get on with the work that needs doing. It’s a straightforward life here in J P Nagar, and we like the routine of the industrial estate.
