Being in a market like this means there's always something going on downstairs. We’ve been operating out of this unit for several years. Our space is filled with files and samples because we handle a lot of links between suppliers and buyers. It’s basically about connecting the dots for people who need specific items for their shops. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Most of our business comes from the other traders in the building or people who have been dealing with us for a decade. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep and narrow, but it's worth it once you get inside and get out of the street heat. It’s a bit cramped with all the boxes piled up against the walls, but we know exactly where everything is. We spend most of our day on the phone or writing out orders on paper. It's just a regular office job in a busy part of town. Sometimes the market gets so crowded it's hard to move, but we like being where the action is. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just trying to do a decent job for the folks who rely on us every day to get their goods.
