Siddeshwara Tours & Travels is based in the Balaji Complex over in Tharagupet. We are right on the 1st Cross, near S P Road, which is one of the busiest spots you can find. There is always someone shouting or a horn honking outside. Our office is small, tucked into the building, and we mostly use it for taking bookings and drinking tea while we wait for the drivers to return. We do a lot of local trips around Bangalore and also some longer ones if people need to go to the village. Managing a fleet of cars and vans in this traffic is a lot of work. You have to know the shortcuts and which roads are blocked for construction. I spend half my day on the mobile phone talking to drivers who are stuck somewhere. The office walls are covered in old calendars and some photos of the places we go. It’s a bit cluttered with papers and keys everywhere. We aren’t a big corporate agency, just a local team trying to keep the wheels turning. Sometimes the rain messes up the schedule, and we have to move things around at the last minute. That’s just the nature of the transport business in this city. People know us because we’ve been here in Defence Colony for a good while. We just try to get people where they need to go without too much fuss. There is a small bakery nearby where we get snacks when the afternoon hunger kicks in.
