Siddappa S J is located at 133 Chamrajpet in the Katha Bazar area, right near the Bull Temple. Being so close to the temple means there is always something happening outside our door. The bazaar is a very traditional place, and it’s been the center of trade in this part of town for a long time. We have our small shop here where we deal with our daily trade. It’s a very busy environment with people constantly walking by and other traders moving their goods. Our place is quite old and has that specific smell of an old market shop—a mix of dust and whatever goods are being sold nearby. We don't have a lot of space, so things are usually stacked up pretty high. We spend our day sitting on the cushions or the small stools, talking to customers and neighbors. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We don't have any computers or fancy gadgets. We just use our books and our memory to keep track of things. Chamrajpet has a lot of history, and we feel like we are a small part of it. It’s not always easy, especially when the market gets too crowded or the weather is bad, but it’s the life we know. If you are visiting the Bull Temple, you can easily find us just a short walk away in the heart of the bazaar.
