Shree Hari Mobile Clinic

Down in j.p.nagar 8th phase, our small shop is tucked away among many others. If you walk past too fast, you might miss us. The space is narrow, filled with glass counters that display different phone cases and tempered glass protectors. We spend most of our time under bright desk lamps looking through magnifying glasses at circuit boards. The traffic outside in this part of Bangalore is always heavy, so there is a constant sound of horns and engines. We have stacks of broken screens behind the counter and a bin full of old batteries. It is a messy job sometimes with all the glue and tiny parts that are easy to lose. People come in mostly because they dropped their phone while getting off a bus or because the charging port stopped working. We use a lot of tweezers and heat guns. There isn't much room for more than three customers to stand at once, so people often wait outside on the pavement. We keep the radio on most of the day to keep us company while we work on the intricate parts of these devices. It's a simple life of fixing one phone after another. We don't have a big sign, just the name on the glass. We start early and stay until the streetlights have been on for a long time, just making sure we finish the repairs promised for that day.
