I have my office at 797 Rajajinagar, which is in the 6th Block on 76th A Cross. This part of Rajajinagar is mostly residential, so it is much quieter than the main shopping areas. I have been working from this location for many years now. My office is just a simple room at the front of the house with a large wooden desk and some steel cupboards for my files. I handle various consultancy tasks, mostly for people I have known for a long time. I don't have a big sign outside, just a small nameplate so people know they have the right house. The street is lined with trees and it’s a nice place to walk in the mornings. I usually start my work after I’ve finished my morning prayers and had some coffee. I don't use a lot of modern technology; a simple phone and my notebooks are usually enough for what I do. People appreciate that I take the time to listen to them without rushing. We often spend more time talking about the old days in Bangalore than we do about the actual business. I like the steady pace of my life here. The neighbors are all very helpful and we look out for each other. It’s not a fancy business, but it keeps me busy and lets me stay active in my community. I plan to keep doing this as long as I am able to manage it without too much trouble.
