We run Shell Solar India out of Betta Chambers, which you can find at 20/1 on the 4th Cross of 5th Main in Chamrajpet. It’s one of those older parts of Bangalore that has a lot of character and history. We’ve been working out of this office for quite some time, focusing on solar power setups for both houses and smaller businesses. Our space in Betta Chambers is usually full of solar samples, loose cables, and a lot of thick technical manuals. It’s not the most modern office you’ll ever see, but it’s where all the actual work gets done. We spend a lot of our time out on rooftops, so the office is mostly for meetings and planning out the next installation project. There are a few of us on the team, and we all pitch in with everything from carrying heavy panels to doing the tricky electrical wiring. Chamrajpet is a busy area, so finding a parking spot can be a real struggle some days, but we like being here. We aren’t interested in being a huge company; we just focus on getting the work finished for the people who hire us. Sometimes the office gets a bit messy with all the gear lying around, but we know where everything is. People often drop by to ask if solar is actually worth the money, and we just give them the honest facts based on what we’ve seen over the years. It’s a steady business and we enjoy the hands-on nature of the work.
