Sharmila Sanu

I’m based over in Austin Town at 251 Jambhulkar Road. It’s right by the 2nd Square, not far from the Ambedkar Statue. My space is pretty modest, just a regular spot where I handle my daily business and meet with people who need my help. Austin Town has a very specific feel to it, a bit old and very lived-in compared to the newer parts of the city. I’ve been around this area for a while, so I’ve seen the way things change and stay the same. My work day usually starts with a lot of small tasks that pile up. It’s not a big corporate operation with lots of staff; it’s more of a personal setup where I do everything. I spend a lot of time on the phone or working on things at my desk. Sometimes neighbors stop by for a chat while they are out near the statue. It’s a busy corner of the neighborhood, but inside it’s mostly just me getting through the to-do list. I don’t use any fancy systems, just a notebook and some basic tools for whatever the day requires. The building is easy to find if you walk down from the main square. I like the routine of being here, opening up the windows to let some air in, and seeing the people pass by on Jambhulkar Road. It’s just a normal way to earn a living in a part of the city I know very well.
