Located at number 68 in Mahalakshmi Layout, this place is part of the Shantanukul Subhash Co Op Housing Society. It is more of a residential vibe around here compared to the busy main roads of the city. You can hear the neighborhood kids playing outside in the evenings and people walking their dogs. The office space itself is quite simple and down to earth. We have a couple of wooden tables and some old metal cupboards for all the records and files. It is a quiet spot, which is good when there is a lot of writing or reading to do during the day. Shanthappa stays busy with various matters and the daily visitors who come by with different requests. We usually keep the door open to let the breeze in since the society has some nice trees nearby that keep things cool. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoons, so we just sit and wait for it to come back or step out for a bit of air. It is not a corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It is a practical space where people from the housing society feel comfortable just walking in to talk. We spend a lot of time organizing papers and talking to the neighbors about what is happening. Every morning, the first thing we do is sweep the front step and get the files ready for the day. It is a steady, calm way to work.
