You can find us at number 9 Mamulpet in Peenya 2nd Stage. We are quite close to the White Temple, which is a big landmark around here. Our business, Shah Indermul Sukhraj & Co, has been around for a while. We are mostly into wholesale trading, so our space is more of a warehouse than a fancy shop. There are stacks of goods everywhere and the floors are just plain concrete. It gets a bit dusty because of all the trucks moving in and out of Peenya, but that is just how it is in an industrial area. We open up early in the morning because that is when the loaders and the transport guys are most active. It’s a family-run operation, so you will usually see one of us sitting at the old wooden desk near the entrance. We don't go in for much decoration or anything like that. We just focus on keeping track of the stock and making sure the orders go out to the other retailers. It is hard work, often involves a lot of shouting to be heard over the machinery nearby, but we enjoy the pace of it. Most of our customers have been buying from us for decades, and we know them by name. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything, a lot of it is still done in ledgers and on paper. It’s just a basic, honest way of doing business in a busy market. We have been at this spot for a long time.
